- Total Time: 15
Ingredients
For the seasoned beef:
- 1 lb ground beef
- 2 tsp chili powder
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1 tsp cumin
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1/4 cup water
For the burrito layers:
- 4 large flour tortillas
- 4 small flour tortillas (optional for the layered effect)
- 1 cup nacho cheese sauce (store-bought or homemade)
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup refried beans
- 1/4 cup sour cream
- Optional: Hot sauce or mild Taco Bell sauce for extra flavor
Instructions
- Cook the seasoned beef:
- Heat a skillet over medium heat. Add the ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it up into small crumbles.
- Drain any excess grease and return the beef to the skillet.
- Add chili powder, paprika, cumin, onion powder, garlic powder, salt, pepper, and water. Stir well and simmer on low heat for 5 minutes until the seasoning is fully absorbed.
- Prepare the beans and nacho cheese:
- Warm the refried beans in a saucepan or microwave until smooth and spreadable.
- Heat the nacho cheese sauce until it’s melted and creamy.
- Assemble the burrito:
- Lay a large tortilla flat on a clean surface. Spread a thin layer of nacho cheese sauce over the center.
- Place a small tortilla on top of the cheese layer.
- Spread about 2-3 tablespoons of refried beans over the small tortilla.
- Add a scoop of seasoned beef (about 1/4 of the total mixture) on top.
- Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese over the beef.
- Top with a dollop of sour cream.
- Wrap it up:
- Fold the sides of the tortilla inward, then roll it up tightly from the bottom to create a burrito.
- Heat the burrito (optional):
- For an authentic Taco Bell touch, place the burrito seam-side down on a hot skillet or griddle for 1-2 minutes to seal it and lightly toast the outside.
