Guava punch is the drink that shows up at every luau, graduation party, and baby shower in Hawaii. It’s sweet, tropical, and stretches to serve a crowd—exactly what you need when family and friends come together.
Guava (the Hawaiian kind is usually strawberry guava) grows everywhere on the islands. But for punch, most locals use guava nectar—that pink juice in the can that’s been a staple since hanabata (small kid) days.
Ingredients

- 2 cans (12 oz each) frozen guava concentrate, thawed
- 1 can (12 oz) frozen lemonade concentrate, thawed
- 1 can (46 oz) pineapple juice
- 2 liters ginger ale or lemon-lime soda, chilled
- Fresh guava slices for garnish (if available)
- Lemon slices for garnish
- Ice ring or ice cubes
Optional Add-ins
- 1 bottle champagne or prosecco
- 2 cups rum (for adult version)
- Fresh mint
Instructions
- Mix the base: In a large punch bowl, combine guava concentrate, lemonade concentrate, and pineapple juice. Stir well.
- Chill: Refrigerate for at least 2 hours or overnight.
- Add fizz: Just before serving, slowly pour in chilled ginger ale.

- Add ice: Add an ice ring (keeps punch cold without diluting too fast) or ice cubes.
- Garnish: Float lemon slices and guava on top.

Tips
- Make an ice ring – Freeze juice in a bundt pan so it doesn’t water down the punch
- Add soda last – Right before serving to keep the fizz
- Taste as you go – Adjust sweetness with more soda or lemon
- Keep it cold – Nothing worse than warm punch at a party
For Adults
Add rum, vodka, or champagne to make it a spiked punch. Start with 2 cups of spirits per batch and adjust to taste. Just remember to keep a non-alcoholic version for the keiki!
