  • Total Time: 15

Ingredients

Units Scale

For the seasoned beef:

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 2 tsp chili powder
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 cup water

For the burrito layers:

  • 4 large flour tortillas
  • 4 small flour tortillas (optional for the layered effect)
  • 1 cup nacho cheese sauce (store-bought or homemade)
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup refried beans
  • 1/4 cup sour cream
  • Optional: Hot sauce or mild Taco Bell sauce for extra flavor

Instructions

  • Cook the seasoned beef:
    • Heat a skillet over medium heat. Add the ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it up into small crumbles.
    • Drain any excess grease and return the beef to the skillet.
    • Add chili powder, paprika, cumin, onion powder, garlic powder, salt, pepper, and water. Stir well and simmer on low heat for 5 minutes until the seasoning is fully absorbed.
  • Prepare the beans and nacho cheese:
    • Warm the refried beans in a saucepan or microwave until smooth and spreadable.
    • Heat the nacho cheese sauce until it’s melted and creamy.
  • Assemble the burrito:
    • Lay a large tortilla flat on a clean surface. Spread a thin layer of nacho cheese sauce over the center.
    • Place a small tortilla on top of the cheese layer.
    • Spread about 2-3 tablespoons of refried beans over the small tortilla.
    • Add a scoop of seasoned beef (about 1/4 of the total mixture) on top.
    • Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese over the beef.
    • Top with a dollop of sour cream.
  • Wrap it up:
    • Fold the sides of the tortilla inward, then roll it up tightly from the bottom to create a burrito.
  • Heat the burrito (optional):
    • For an authentic Taco Bell touch, place the burrito seam-side down on a hot skillet or griddle for 1-2 minutes to seal it and lightly toast the outside.

Notes

Serve with your favorite hot sauce, tortilla chips, and guacamole for a true Tex-Mex feast.

Enjoy the homemade Taco Bell magic!
