The POG Story

POG was created in 1971 at Haleakala Dairy on Maui. Mary Soon, a product development specialist, combined three tropical juices that grew abundantly in Hawaii and created something magical.

Fresh POG Juice (Passion Orange Guava)

Hawaii's iconic juice made fresh – tropical passion fruit, bright orange, and sweet guava blended into the most refreshing drink of your childhood.

Prep Time: 10 minutes | Servings: 4 cups

Ingredients

Fresh Version:

  • 4 fresh passion fruits (or ½ cup frozen passion fruit pulp)
  • 2 cups fresh orange juice
  • 1 cup guava nectar or puree
  • 2-4 tablespoons sugar or honey (to taste)

Easy Version:

  • ½ cup passion fruit nectar (Goya brand works)
  • 2 cups orange juice
  • 1 cup guava nectar

Instructions

  1. Cut passion fruits in half. Scoop pulp into a fine-mesh strainer. Press to extract juice.
  2. Combine passion fruit juice, orange juice, and guava nectar in a pitcher.
  3. Stir well. Taste and add sugar if needed.
  4. Chill thoroughly before serving over ice.

POG cocktail: Add 1.5 oz vodka or light rum per glass.
