A letter from the kitchen
A short letter for a long table.
There is no recipe in this issue I would not bring to a potluck. That is the editorial argument: stop apologizing for the sides, the trays, the things people eat standing up. Holiday cooking lives at room temperature; this issue treats it that way.
Cook one main, two sides, a dessert that holds. Send people home with leftovers in the foil. That is the whole assignment.
